Pharmacist- Casual

Aireys Inlet Pharmacy is a small community pharmacy located on the alluring Great Ocean Road, 10 minutes from Anglesea.  We are seeking a Pharmacist for a Casual position to join our team. Being a surfcoast town, hours may vary from 4-8 hours per week depending on season. 

Background

We are a small locally owned independent pharmacy on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. We pride ourselves on “Creating Connected Communities”, providing healthcare in a sustainable manner for the future. Our goal is to provide evidence based healthcare and pharmacy services individualised to the needs of the local community of Aireys Inlet, giving people a reason to want to improve their health outcomes with autonomy.

Services 

We offer services beyond the dispensing of medications including immunisations both in-pharmacy and mobile out-reach clinics for vulnerable populations, Pharmacist Pilot Prescribing, in-pharmacy Physiotherapy consultations by a Consulting Physiotherapist, Pharmacist Home Medication Reviews (HMR’s) targeted at polypharmacy and deprescribing in the elderly, local community sponsorships and Telehealth Video Conferencing. 

We are looking to expand our scope into Sleep Apnoea and Wound Care Services.

The Role (this list is not exhaustive): 

You will be responsible to assist in the running of a small dispensary using Z Software doing 70-90 scripts per day whilst offering immunisations and excellent personalised healthcare. We strive to provide health solutions with evidence WITHOUT the sole focus of meeting financial performance indicators.

Duties (this list is not exhaustive):

• Forward dispensing 
• Dispensing prescriptions
• Counselling patients
• Checking Webster Packs (Packed off-site)
• Daily Dispensary Ordering
• Supervising the team when required
• Assisting with the smooth and efficient running of the dispensary and front of shop
• Adhere to all QCPP requirements along with following the stores Policies and procedures

Experience Required:

We seek an enthusiastic and passionate Pharmacist to step into this role with drive, passion and a vision to grow the Pharmacies’ services, script numbers and overall business. Your love for community pharmacy will enable you to help continue to build this business, whilst building strong working relationships with the customers, the community and the team.

• Current AHPRA Pharmacy Registration 
• Membership with a Professional Indemnity Insurance provider
• Immunization qualification and experience will be a bonus however not mandatory (Training can be provided for the right candidate)
• Ability to work casual shifts including some Saturdays 9 AM to 2 PM (Roster Flexible)

Working Conditions (this list is not exhaustive)
The role will require the employee to:
▪ Lift and move items of a moderate to heavy weight (approximately 8 kgs).
▪ Reach items above shoulder height.
▪ Use computer screens and technology frequently.*
▪ Spend prolonged periods (6-8 hours) standing.
▪ Remain alert and focused for extended periods of time.*

Previous pharmacy experience is preferred but not essential. Previous retail experience would strengthen the application. 

Advantageous to have experience with FRED or Z dispense programs

Have effective communication skills and proven ability to work in a team environment and an area of disease states that you are exceptionally passionate about. 

Be patient focused with organisational and time management skills
