What you’ll do
As the Pharmacist in Charge, you will lead our hospital pharmacy team and collaborate with doctors/nurse unit managers to provide centralised patient care. The Avenue Hospital is one of the top hospitals in the inner suburbs of Melbourne, offering patients a range of comprehensive specialist services including: medical, surgical, interventional imaging and a dermatology centre. This opportunity is perfect for a well-rounded individual that can coordinate the workflow of our team, and effectively manage the relationship with hospital executives!
Oversee & drive a range of specialist pharmacy services across both the ward and clinical dispensary, catering to the needs of our valued patients.
Mentor and develop the skills of our team, guiding them through onboarding and induction processes for new team members.
Work closely with the hospital team to educate staff and counsel patients on medication usage.
What you’ll bring
Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent with current Pharmacist Registration with AHPRA
Previous experience as a full time Pharmacist - hospital experience is highly regarded
Strong leadership & communication skills, capable of managing and leading a team in accordance with legislative and medication safety guidelines.
High level of computer literacy including systems knowledge of dispensing software
It is a mandatory requirement that you provide:
Up to date COVID-19 vaccinations using vaccines approved by the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation
Proof of immunisation against infectious diseases
A national police check conducted within the last 12 months
