Job description

Provide clinical expertise and leadership in the provision of Pharmacy services to multiple specialty Pharmacy work units, Multidisciplinary teams and the Dispensary within Redcliffe Hospital throughout Metro North Hospital and Health Service and to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health in accordance with organisational goals.

About the role

The main aims of the role are to improve medication and patient safety, improve service delivery and maintain financial sustainability through appropriate medication use within the relevant work unit. The role requires a high-level of initiative, pharmacy knowledge, skills and experience. This position has components of research and education both to multidisciplinary teams and to pharmacy staff. The applicant must have the ability to identify, develop, implement and maintain medication safety systems and drug use evaluation initiatives within various clinical areas.

    • Demonstrated high level of knowledge, expertise and skill in Clinical Pharmacy Practice.
    • Demonstrated ability to initiate, plan and evaluate local service improvement initiatives and provide clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors regarding service delivery and improvement opportunities.
    • Demonstrated ability to provide complex clinical pharmacy services where established principles, procedures and methods require some expansion, adaptation or modification
  • Integrity – demonstrates sound decision quality, ensures accountability, demonstrates courage in the face of adversity and works effectively / manages complexity to ensure work output and decisions are ethical and invariably of a high standard.
