The opportunity:
We are seeking a part-time Pharmacy Studentto join our supportive and friendly Epic Pharmacy team at The Mater Hospital, North Sydney.

Gain hands-on experience and further develop your knowledge and skills in a multidisciplinary environment. With the support of our leaders, you will provide excellent patient care and deliver high-quality pharmacy services.

This role is ideal for a Pharmacy Student looking to gain experience working in a hospital pharmacy and someone looking for weekend work to fit home and study commitments.

The hours:
This is a permanent part-time position, working each Saturday from 9:00am until 4:00pm.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Assist in the sale of S2 and S3 medicines while displaying an appropriate level of knowledge
  • Dispense and supply medications and pharmacy products under supervision for hospital inpatients and outpatients
  • Assist patients and customers with general queries, including liaising with hospital staff
  • Replenish stock and assist in maintaining inventory levels both in the pharmacy and in the hospital wards
  • Process sales transactions and assist with account queries
  • Ensure patients and nursing staff receive the correct medication
  • Assist the pharmacy teams with other ad-hoc pharmaceutical duties

Who are we looking for?
You’ll:
  • Be a Pharmacy Student enrolled in an Australian university (open to all years)
  • Be committed to providing patient-centred pharmacy services
  • Have experience dispensing medication in an Australian based pharmacy
  • Be able to address client needs with confidentiality, sensitivity and professionalism
  • Have a high attention to detail
  • The ability to work autonomously and in a team environment

Preferred Requirements:
  • Dispensing experience in an Australian based hospital or community pharmacy
  • Current enrolment in Bachelor of Pharmacy studies at a recognised Australian University
