The Brain Cancer Collective (BCC) is the charity arm of Brain Cancer Biobanking Australia (BCBA), a national consortium of adult and paediatric clinicians and researchers dedicated to advancing Australia’s capacity for cohesive brain cancer research and optimising brain cancer patient care.
BCC's main responsibility is to raise funds to support BCBA's operations and projects.
BCC seeks an experienced Philanthropy Manager to provide leadership and growth for our organisation’s fundraising program.
The ideal applicant would share our deep commitment to defeating brain cancer.
We are looking for excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, and a demonstrated record of success in major gift fundraising.
Key responsibilities:
- Work closely with the CEO to drive fundraising growth with a particular focus on major gift fundraising and stakeholder management
- Execute our fundraising campaign strategy, including planning, marketing and overseeing all fundraising programs
- Develop and implement a high impact communications strategy to build our brand
Experience & Competencies Required:
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience and a proven track record in fundraising within a major organisation. Knowledge of the medical industry is advantageous but not essential. In addition, you will bring:
- Evidence of delivering income growth through successful fundraising strategies, including major gift cultivation, negotiation and stewardship
- Strong project management and event management skills
- Compelling written communication skills and experience writing for online and email campaigns
- High level of diplomacy and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
- Experience and technical knowledge managing websites and databases
- The ability to work well remotely and with remote team members located interstate
Proposed Remuneration:
- Salary commensurate with experience
- Pro-rata for a 4-day week. Days to be agreed Monday-Friday
