Lifeline Northern Beaches (‘LLNB’) is a suicide prevention charity supporting people going through a wide range of difficulties, from anger, anxiety and depression, to family, relationship and financial problems. Our team in the 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services are committed to empowering people to be suicide-safe through connection, compassion and hope.
Role
This new role, reporting to the CEO and working as part of the Leadership team, will develop the Philanthropy and Partnerships practice at Lifeline Northern Beaches ('LLNB').
Key Responsibilities
- Research, identify, pitch, develop, and nurture relationships across trusts and foundations, PAFs, corporates, corporate foundations and HNWI donors
- Work with the CEO to expand Government grant opportunities at the local, state and national level
- Build strong internal relationships to develop a deep understanding of LLNB’s work, programs, priorities, innovations, history, purpose, and impact
- Write compelling proposals and grants that effectively communicate LLNB’s goals, objectives, and impact to potential donors and funders
- Manage an effective tracking process for gathering relevant information and data ensuring timely grant applications and acquittals
- Develop a planned giving program to enable donors /volunteers to provide a gift in will
- Maintain accurate CRM records reflecting communication activity and crucial information
- Stay current on philanthropic trends, opportunities and requirements.
Desired experience and attributes
- Demonstrated success in a similar philanthropy, major gifts, Trusts & Foundations, corporate partnerships or grant writing role (other professional fundraising experience considered)
- Proven track record and success in identifying, capturing, developing and retaining long term and high value strategic partnerships in the NFP sector or in a role where you worked closely with the community sector from a commercial/CSRS/ESG position
- Proven experience executing philanthropic and corporate partnership strategies
- Superior project management experience
- A high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and database management (Salesforce)
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong entrepreneurial attitude and creative approach to growing the Philanthropy and partnership program
- Strong attention to detail, exemplarily written communication, and presentation skills
- Confident and articulate speaker, ability to represent LLNB to donors & partners.
