About the opportunity
The Philatelic Group supports the overall Supply Chain and Retail Products Portfolio plan by developing new profit streams through product and category innovation whilst continuing to produce a commercially focused stamp and collectables program. Operating in a traditionally declining collector market the key focuses will include maximising profit whilst minimising costs from existing activity and aligning available resources to foster a culture of innovation.
The Philatelic Product Developer role is responsible for driving the Philatelic traditional stamp, numismatic and collectable program forward and accountable for managing stakeholder engagement and ensuring that projects stay within budget and completed on time. As part of the team, the person will be required to develop a range of stamp and collectable product that meets the needs of the collector market, while focused on driving profit and revenue to meet budget requirements.
This role will be $105,832 plus super.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing and developing strong strategic partnerships with relevant internal and external business areas
- Accountability for developing products/programs that meet the needs of the customer, channel and operations to maximise Philatelic profit and exposure potential
- Responsibility for developing a three-year Product strategy that supports and adds value to the Philatelic Strategic and Product Plan, leverages and enhances core competencies and builds market share
- Being a key contributor by providing ongoing recommendations on the Stamp Issue, Numismatic and Collectables Strategy including themes, pricing and stamp issue product configurations
- Responsibility for maintaining the Corporate Stamp Issue Policy across all programs
- Accountability for the product management of standard numismatic product lines and identifying opportunities to extend the Philatelic collectables range through mint coins
- Responsibility for Implementing product strategies and maximise profit
- Accountability for generating profitable revenue in line with growth targets and benchmark ROI
- Accountability for keeping to a budget and continue to find cost efficiencies
- Responsibility for managing the product range quality and formats offered to customers
- Responsibility for product innovation and sourcing new product opportunities, which will enhance the customer experience and create new profit streams or growth in current product categories
- Leading the Product program activity independently and collaborative with key stakeholders
About you
You are a product development and category specialist, who can hit the ground running. You are creative and innovative with the ability to develop products that meet the needs of the customer. You enjoy managing multiple projects and strongly capable of handling a challenging workload. You have a passion for building strong relationships with stakeholders and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You’re eager to get stuff done, and approach your work with enthusiasm, attention to detail and a strong customer focus.
