Phlebotomy Technician (511311)

The role:

• In accordance with conventional practices, methods and standards, the Phlebotomy Technician provides

  phlebotomy and specimen collection services to inpatient and outpatient clients.

The team:

• The main collection centre for outpatients at Pathology South is located in the RHH Wellington Clinics. There are also 3 other smaller clinics located at Rosny, Glenorchy and Kingston
• Pathology South also services the inpatients at the RHH, Repatriation Hospital and the Hobart Private Hospital  
• The successful applicant/s will be required to fully rotate throughout all the areas of our service

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, Casual, shift-worker (set rotational) position, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately twelve (12) months. 

• Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $71,661 - $77,455 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Plus 25% Casual Loading - Equivalent of $45.33 to $48.99 per hour.

Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

1. A strong interest in a career in healthcare 

2. Previously worked in a role which required you to perform venepuncture would be acceptable e.g. Vet nursing
3. On the job training is provided
4. A Certificate III, or equivalent Diploma, from a registered tertiary institution, or an equivalent qualification, appropriate to the nature of the work is desirable, but not essential
