This is an ongoing role, located in our office in Belconnen. The successful applicant can work either full-time or part-time hours. Flexible working arrangements, including a hybrid model of working from home and the office applies.
The key duties of the position include
Responsibilities of the role of Physical Security Team Leader include:
- manage the agency's Physical Security program, including
- security advice for office refurbishments or green-field sites
- the ABS' panel of Security Construction and Equipment Committee (SCEC), endorsed consultants and other security industry specialists (e.g. CCTV, EACS, TSCM, etc.)
- the ABS' guarding services
- the ABS' SCEC locksmithing services
- manage agency protective security staff
- contribute to the development of agency security plans, policies and procedures
- manage procurement processes
- provide security advice to the ABS and other agencies
- prepare security reports
- coordinate and conduct security audits
- liaise with ICT staff on computer and communications security
- develop and maintain external and internal security related networks
- liaise with law enforcement and intelligence agencies, other emergency services, agency service providers, clients and stakeholders.
What we are looking for (selection criteria)
To be suitable you should have most or all the following skills, qualities and experience:
- ability to lead and manage others, to support the outcomes and objectives of the workplace
- previous experience in a role relevant to Physical Security and protective security generally; including Physical Security system design and administration, zone compliance and accreditation, protective security governance, personnel security and information security
- well developed verbal and written communication skills, problem solving and demonstrated attention to detail
- negotiation, conflict resolution, networking and representational skills
- ability to undertake specialist Physical Security projects to meet compliance requirements or manage security risks
- qualifications and / or experience in a protective security environment within a government environment are essential, including (but are not limited to):
o Diploma of Security and Risk Management
o Certificate IV or Diploma in Government Investigations.
