Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, the Rebate Accountant plays a key role in sales and margin accounting, reporting and analysis with a focus on supplier and customer rebates. This opportunity is suitable for a self-motivated candidate with a solid accounting background and a high attention to detail.

What Your Day-to-Day Might Look Like:
- Performing month end processes relating to sales and gross margin with a focus on supplier and customer rebates
- Responsible for calculating, reconciling and accounting for all supplier and customer rebates in accordance with agreements including working closely with Supplier Relationships team (not essential to have previous rebate exposure as training will be provided)
- Responsible for monitoring rebate payments/collections due and following up with internal and external parties as required
- Monthly analysis of rebates to identify impacts on margin including analysing various types of rebate rates, supplier mix and product mix.
- Assisting with other sales and margin accounting and monthly results as required by the Senior Management Accountant
- Reporting and analysis on monthly KPIs
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial & management reports.
- Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Ad hoc analysis and modelling to assist commercial decision making
- Assisting with the external audit processes
- Assisting with budgeting and reforecast processes
- Provide support to the broader finance team as required
- Prepare ad hoc analysis and attend to other finance matters as required by the Senior Management Accountant and Group Financial Controller.
The following will set you apart:
- Solid accounting experience ideally (but not essential) gained within a high-volume transaction environment
- The role requires an organised, methodical, and deadline driven individual
- Prior large ERP experience and extensive experience and proficiency with Excel
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with all levels of internal and external parties
- Ability to develop close working relationships with finance and non-finance departments
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast- paced environment and adhere to deadlines
- Relevant accounting qualifications including CA or CPA
