  • Salary: $67,466 - $100,729 p.a - Temporary Full Time (up to 26 September 2025) - AHP1/2

Please note that as this position is multi-classed as either an AHP2 or AHP1, the classification will be determined by qualifications and experience.

Overview

The Physiotherapist (AHP2) applies extensive clinical expertise and specialized knowledge to design, implement, and assess a wide range of services tailored to the unique needs of rural and remote communities. Operating with autonomy but under minimal clinical direction, they may also oversee the clinical development of less experienced allied health professionals, assistants, and students. Collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and engaging with professionals across various sectors, the Physiotherapist employs a holistic approach encompassing preventive, early intervention, treatment, and evaluation methods. This includes individual therapy, group programs, health promotion initiatives, and community development projects.

With guidance from the Senior Physiotherapist, the Physiotherapist (AHP1) collaborates with the Regional Community Health Team Leader to deliver a broad spectrum of health services tailored to the local community's needs. Operating within a multidisciplinary framework that includes professionals from various sectors, the Physiotherapist employs a range of strategies, including preventive measures, early interventions, treatments, and evaluations. This collaborative approach ensures a comprehensive and integrated approach to addressing community health concerns.

The role requires residency in one of several communities within the Eyre & Far North Region, with duties extending to multiple communities on a regular and rostered basis. These communities include Port Lincoln, Elliston, Streaky Bay, Ceduna, Wudinna, Cleve, Cowell, Kimba, Tumby Bay, or Cummins.

Applicant Information

Must hold a recognised qualification within the relevant allied health profession and be eligible for full membership of the relevant Professional Association. 

For those disciplines requiring Registration, all requirements to maintain current registration must be fulfilled. For self-regulated professions it is desirable to participate in the professional associations’ accredited continuous professional development program.
