Abcor Pty Ltd is a privately owned Australian organisation employing over 250 staff to design and locally manufacture genuine automotive and truck parts for major multinational organisations. We are currently looking for a Product Engineer to join our dynamic team.
The Position
As a Product Engineer, you will control of all aspects of the product development process. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our products meet and exceed customer expectations and industry standards.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Detailed design of components and systems based on customer requirements and manufacturing feasibility
- Communication with internal stakeholders including commercial and manufacturing
- Understanding of product compliance including Australian Design Rules (ADRs), Australian and International Standards
- Managing all project timelines
- Development and execution of product testing and evaluation
- Project documentation
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Automotive Engineering experience with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in automotive product development is preferred but not mandatory
- A sound knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication and plastic molding
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in working with suppliers
- Highly developed written and oral communication and follow-up skills
- Proven experience in delivering projects and new products
- Proven project management skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
