Position Summary
Grade 2 Physiotherapist
- Permanent Full-time with Monthly ADO
- General Medicine & Acute Neurology Clinical Units

This dynamic role will be responsible for the clinical management of a General Medicine and Acute Neurological unit at a Grade 2 level while offering clinical supervision and support to the Grade1 and AHA workforce and teaching opportunity within the undergraduate student program
Encompassing the Eastern Health promise of 'Healthier Together' you will be a dynamic, enthusiastic team player within the multi-disciplinary team and Eastern Health Physiotherapy, actively seeking to collaborate with others to improve outcomes & experiences for your patients. You will active seek to support and partner with service improvement being undertaken by Grade 3 and Grade 4 Clinical Leads within Neurology and Aged & Complex Care Physiotherapy.
This role will be robustly supported via Grade 3 Physiotherapists and more broadly by the support & improvement network lead by our Grade 4 Clinical Lead Physiotherapist in Neurology and Aged & Complex Care. Clinical supervision is provided to this role by an on-site Grade 3 Physiotherapist and the role operates within a team of Physiotherapists that service the many clinical units across Maroondah Hospital so on-site peer support is available.
To be successful in this role you should possess:
Essential
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy
- Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
- Eligibility for practicing membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association
- Advanced clinical skills in managing a complex caseload and comprehensive discharge planning using a client-centred approach.
- Broad clinical experience encompassing diverse patient presentation.
- Previous clinical experience working in General Medicine and neurology.
- High level communication skills, both written and oral.
- Demonstrated capacity to work / show leadership in a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to introduce innovative practice.
- Commitment to improving own practice and undertaking quality and research activities.
- Demonstrated understanding of professional codes of conduct.
- Participation in work practice coordination and review
- Experience in conflict resolution
- Working towards post graduate qualification would be highly regarded.
- Member, Australian Physiotherapy Association with current involvement in relevant special interest groups
- Experience in supervision of staff and/or students.
Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role. An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
