Physiotherapist

Permanent Full Time, Part Time and Casual positions available

Grade 2 or 3 – dependent on experience

This position is delivered in Mildura- a thriving regional city in Victoria's Northwest.

The Role: 

The Mildura Base Public Hospital Physiotherapy Department provides services across acute and sub-acute settings

Grades 2 and 3 – 

  • To provide comprehensive physiotherapy services to patients within the designated caseload in inpatient services
  • Grade 2 - provide support, supervision and direction to Grade 1 physiotherapists, students and allied health assistants as required
  • Grade 3 - provide support, supervision and direction to Grade 1 and 2 physiotherapists, students and allied health assistants as required
  • To contribute to the development of the physiotherapy service, such as quality improvement projects and department audits, as well as the general allied health department as appropriate

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • Current registration as a Physiotherapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA)
  • Years of experience (within the Australian Healthcare system or equivalent healthcare system):
    • Grade 2: Minimum 5 years of acute hospital experience of caseloads such as neurological, orthopaedic, respiratory and surgical condition, ideally HCU/ICU experience also.
    • Grade 3: 5-10 years of acute hospital experience, including HCU/ICU, of caseloads such as neurological, orthopaedic, respiratory and surgical condition, with advanced experience in one of the areas stated. 
  • Demonstrated ability to be an independent adult learner, independently seeking external professional development and guiding clinical supervision to their needs
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience appropriate to relevant Grade:
  • Grade 2 and 3 includes ability to:
    • assess, treat and plan discharge for patients with complex conditions
    • identify individual patients need for physiotherapy intervention
    • establish therapeutic goals and appropriate interventions
    • prescribe equipment and refer to other disciplines to enhance function and patient safety
    • confidently liaise throughout the wider Allied Health team, Medical and Nursing staff to promote patient safety when discharging, especially with complex patients
    • supervision of students, new graduates, grade 1's and 2's as appropriate and applicable

Remuneration:
FTE Grade 2 commencing at $88,467.60 p/a;
FTE Grade 3 commencing at $102,091.60 p/a
