About the role:
Our successful candidate will provide physiotherapy assessment and treatment to ward based patients predominantly on medical wards and surgical wards when necessary. In addition you will participate in an outreach model of service to Dungog Hospital when patients require on site review and outpatient service. You will work within a collaborative team of Physiotherapists who are eager to share expertise and support for complex cases and in addition you will be supported in your role by senior clinicians.
Where you'll be working:

• An opportunity exists to join the Maitland Hospital physiotherapy team. Our dedicated team currently consists of Physiotherapists who are ward based and include positions in emergency department, ward weekend coverage and an outpatient physiotherapy service including hand specialty, orthopaedic fracture clinic and general outpatients with support from physiotherapy assistants.
• Our team works effectively with the LHS Physiotherapy services including HITH; Kurri Kurri Rehab Unit; Kurri Kurri District Hospital and Cessnock District Hospital.

Information for Applicants:
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
