This position entails actively participating in the training of Hospital in the Home (HITH) team members under the guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM). Responsibilities include evaluating referrals to determine their suitability for a range of services, including Occupational Therapy (OT), Physiotherapy, and nursing care, while also overseeing the management of limited term services and making appropriate referrals as necessary.
Our ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Physiotherapy Head of Discipline and the NUM to ensure the seamless functioning of the service. Cultivating strong partnerships with Acute Care at Maitland Hospital and our Rural and Regional teams is essential. Additionally, this role offers potential for career progression and the opportunity to provide temporary support as needed.
Where you'll be working:
Located in the picturesque town of Maitland, our office serves as a hub for seamless coordination between emergency department (ED) staff, wards, and allied health professionals for efficient referrals. Offering not only the convenience of vehicle access but also supplementary resources for home visits, our setup ensures comprehensive patient care. With a dedicated clinical team providing unwavering support, including six allied health experts, collaboration and expertise are at the forefront of our operations.
Our successful candidate will have the freedom of scheduling their own day and can operate autonomously to exercise their clinical expertise, innovate in care delivery, and adapt to the unique needs of each patient, ensuring the highest standards of healthcare provision and patient satisfaction.

- You have the ability to analyse complex clinical scenarios and make informed decisions for patient care.
- You have up-to-date knowledge and proficiency in the fields of musculoskeletal and respiratory health, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.
- You have the capacity to lead teams through changes in healthcare services with adaptability, foresight, and inspiration.
- You have the ability to utilises technology appropriately to enhance client interactions and improve healthcare delivery.
