Salary:
$41 pr. hour
Location:
Balwyn, VIC.
Role Purpose: The Pipelayer is responsible for the trenching, drilling and installation of pipeline in a safe and efficient manner to construct the works as directed by the Construction Supervisor
Key Accountabilities:
· Read and interpret construction site plans, completing delegated tasks in accordance with the Safe Work Method Statements and Environmental standards to the required quality and to the client’s satisfaction.
· Undertake the trenching, drilling and installation of pipeline as requested by the Project Manager.
· May be required to operate plant items to construct the works as directed by the Project Manager.
· Undertake the installation of mains gas and services including the installation of gas appliances, pressure regulation systems, back flow meters and piping systems.
· Undertake the installation of underground drainage systems and aboveground support systems.
· Undertake the installation of effluent pumping systems.
· Undertake the installation of gas appliances and instant hot water systems in consultation with client and Project Manager.
· Ensure safe and compliant establishment of soil and wastage materials storage as per HSEQ standards.
· Assist the Site Supervisor by completing delegated work efficiently and at optimal cost.
· Complete delegated tasks in accordance with the Safe Work Method Statements and Environmental standards to the required quality and to the client’s satisfaction.
· Understand and work in accordance with Safe Work Method Statements and Environmental Work Method Statements.
· Comply with site rules including PPE requirements
· Actively participate in Preliminary Safety and Environmental Risk Assessments.
· Actively participate Daily Site Risk Assessments and toolbox talks
· Ensure all permits (including excavation and overhead risk assessment) are completed and controls are in place before commencing works.
· Report all incidents to the Site Supervisor and assist in the preparation incident reports.
· Complete daily and quarterly plant inspections and checklists
· Report all damage and/or maintenance requirements to the Site Supervisor
· Assist the Site Supervisor to determine the most effective methodologies, plant and equipment
· Ensure the work is constructed correctly the first time in line with the technical requirements.
· Working with the general public and adhering to Safe work Method Statements and Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards at all times.
· Assist the Site Supervisor in ensuring the quality of the work, health and safety of all staff under his control, environmental compliance, client and stakeholder satisfaction while carrying out any work for Girri Birrang Infrastructure Pty. Ltd.
· Collect and return to the Site Supervisor delivery docket and hire records for all materials and services provided to the site.
· Establish and maintain a positive and productive Client relationship to assist in project delivery and maximise the opportunity of repeat business.

· Have an appreciation for Legislation, Regulations, Standards, and Approved processes, and an understanding of their implications, with a view to effectively implementing them.
Typical Experience/Qualifications
· Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position.
· Broad experience and preferably, a record of achievement(s) in a similar Role, in an Organisation previously worked for;
· Appropriate level of Industry-related Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) experience;
· Motor vehicle Driver’s Licence recognised in Australia;
· Appropriate qualification and/or competencies necessary for the items of plant to be operated
