Operating within the Gawler region since 1984, Argoweld is a fabrication and maintenance workshop that has seen steady growth in the last 5 years. We specialise in general and onsite maintenance, truck and trailer repairs and maintenance, agricultural machinery repairs, vehicle fit outs and so much more. We are a small team, but we are dynamic and thrive on the variety of work that we do delivering a superior high-quality product that has been tailored to our specific customer requirements.
The Opportunity
This new role is the next step in Argoweld’s growth and will be at the forefront of planning, estimating, and quoting new work, liaising with suppliers and customers, and supporting the Foreman in scheduling jobs and projects. This role would suit an experienced Foreman or Leading Hand that have had experience with pricing and quoting in a fabrication workshop and who are looking for a new challenge.
This person must the right person with the right attitude. As part of the senior leadership team, it is crucial this person collaborates, supports, and works extremely well with the Foreman and the Managing Director as well as being able to work autonomously. They are an effective leader and can influence people and lead outcomes. They can apply their fabrication skills and experience to dynamically problem solve and find creative solutions. This individual is organised and structured, which allows them to be dynamic and adaptable to change and competing priorities.
Skills and Experience
- You will hold a trade qualification in metal fabrication (minimum 5 years’ experience)
- Proven experience as either a supervisor or leading hand of a fabrication workshop
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in pricing/quoting in a fabrication workshop
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, sketches, and diagrams
- Knowledge of welding techniques and procedures
- Must have driver’s licence (HR highly regarded) and High Risk licence
