About the role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Planner / Scheduler to manage the end-to-end program of works within our Gas Services business, which includes forecasting, reporting, capacity control and some financial management. This full-time role is based at our Hume depot 3 days per week with the option to WFH the other 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Providing two (2) year rolling labour forecasts by activity type, geography and skill capability, including annual phasing of labour supply plans for activities, providing clear visibility of potential risk scenarios and management strategies
  • Provide scenario analysis as required to inform business decisions regarding resourcing levels and insourcing or outsourcing of works
  • Developing short term and long term forecasts of the delivery of the CAPEX and OPEX programs for the network
  • Plan, monitor and review short term, medium and long term work activities, including analysing maintenance trends, identifying cross regional interdependencies, initiating system and operational improvements/reallocations to optimising synergies and effective resource utilisation across the business
  • Provide weekly, fortnightly and monthly schedules in line with KPI’s
  • Package and assign works for field resource in alignment of the works program
  • Coordinate for 3rd party contractors, traffic control or other parties required to ensure effective schedule delivery
  • Ensure work is dispatched to field in timely manner and closed out in line with scheduled plan for delivery

About You

To be successful in this position you will be customer focused, strategic and be able to make timely decisions. You will also possess the following attributes:

  • Customer focussed and the ability to make timely decisions while juggling conflicting priorities
  • Highly developed verbal, interpersonal, communication, facilitation and negotiation skills, as well as a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Previous experience in utilities industry an advantage
  • Resource planning skills (e.g. resource management operating systems, capacity planning, direct and indirect demand, utilisation and productivity, labour standards and reasonable expectations etc)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
