Our Lihir operation is now recruiting for an experienced, tech savvy and detailed oriented Scheduler/Planner to join the Project Management Office team based at the Milton, Brisbane Hub Office.

The role of Scheduler/Planner is responsible for creating, maintaining, monitoring, managing, communicating and identifying risks with regards capital portfolio plans in collaboration with project teams, vendors and stakeholders. They will ensure that progress is accurately tracked, risk are identified and communicated and recorded against baseline schedules and Major Events Calendar. They will also provide regular updates to Project Managers allowing them to address any deviations from the plan proactively, provide regular reports on schedule performance for the portfolio of projects, provide critical path analysis and identify potential scheduling conflicts. This role will continuously improve the process and schedules.
Essential criteria
- 6+ years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Broad mining relevant work experience across the whole of the mining lifecycle
- Proven track record for the delivery of project objectives and established targets
- Excellent verbal & written communication
- Exceptional planning, stakeholder engagement with ability to multi task
- Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines
- Computer proficiency in MS Office suite.
- Sound planning, analytical, and problem-solving
- Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
- Scheduling softwares Primavera P6 version 7,
- Microsoft Project (advanced), Gantt charts
- Ability to learn new software applications
- Prior experience working in a diverse cultural environment in a mining context
- Previous experience working on projects in remote locations and developing countries
The Requirements
- Must be open to travel to PNG (Lihir) a few times a year
- Ability to complete a pre-employment medical
- Must be able to complete a National Police Check.
