About the role
Over the last decade our city has experienced significant population, dwelling and employment growth. With a new elected Council and vision for the City’s future and growth not expected to slow down, we are on the hunt for two experienced planners for Strategic Land Use Planning (1x permanent position and 1x temporary contract until 30th June 2025).
Both opportunities allow you to play a crucial role in meaningful strategic projects that will shape Logan’s future. You will contribute to the success of the Strategic Land Use Planning team by undertaking strategic planning projects that adopt best practice planning principles and evidence-based research.
These positions will also assist Senior Planners in reviewing, drafting and preparing amendments to Council's regulatory instruments including the Logan Planning Schemes 2015 and the Logan Plan 2025.

Requirements of the role include:
- Tertiary qualification in Town Planning is essential.
- Eligibility for corporate membership of the Planning Institute of Australia.
- Tertiary qualifications in public administration, policy development and/or project management will be advantageous.
- Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience in planning management, consultation, negotiation and networking in a complex policy and legislative environment.
- Demonstrated experience in engagement, advocacy and negotiation with members of the public, internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong experience in producing complex reports, correspondence and briefing material for senior and executive management.
- Ability to successfully pass all background related checks.
