About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Planning and Purchasing Coordinator. You will work closely with our Production Planner in Shepparton VIC, Co-ordinating and maintaining effective and efficient supply and inventory of packaging and raw materials and consumable inventories as per production schedule and forecast demand via approved domestic and overseas vendors. 

Please note this role is based in Shepparton and will require the successful candidate to work fulltime on-site. 

Major responsibilities (Refer to position description for details)

  • Ensure Supply activities comply with government acts and statutory regulations.
  • Ensure Supply activities comply with company OHS policy and regulations.
  • Inbound Logistics Scheduling of Transport service providers for delivery of raw materials and packaging as per production schedule.
  • Vendor Management and analysis of open order reports for raw materials and packaging to support the production plan and sales forecat.
  • Vendor Schedules - Material call-ups for fortnightly production schedule and vendor forecasts. (Exceptions report) Expedite authorized purchase orders and blanket orders in accordance with policy and lead time requirements.
  • Purchasing function for BULK Tank material requirements as per plant operator’s requisition.
  • Material Resource Planning (MRP) for all long lead-time materials + packaging.
  • Inventory & Vendor Master File Management (NPD, Change Management) Maintenance of business component inventory / Vendor codes.
  • PAC (Production Activity Control): Creation and maintenance of firmed and released production orders when required to support planning function. 
  • Assist with ‘New product development’ process and Change Management (packaging design) and communication of Packaging and Raw material NPD to key internal departments.
  • Vendor Invoice authorization and investigation and discrepancy resolution/ credit requisition 
  • Vendor non-conformance (NCR), return of goods and credit execution and resolution 
  • Inventory status reporting as required.
  • Co-ordinating 3rd party co-packer activities as per sales forecast and production schedule and forecast demand to 3rd party provider.
  • All other Purchasing and Supply chain requirements as requested by Purchasing and Planning Manager.

Qualifications & experience

  • +2 years’ experience within the Supply Chain function in a Manufacturing FMCG business 
  • MRP II systems MFGPRO/ BPCS/ Pronto/ SAP
  • APICS qualifications CPIM or Dip. Of Purchasing is desirable 
  • Degree/ Diploma in Manufacturing or Logistics discipline is desirable 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
