About the Role
JBS Australia is currently recruiting a passionate and experienced Plant Accountant to join our Operations team at our busy Bordertown plant in a permanent full-time capacity. Our Bordertown Plant is a five-day, sheep processing facility that also produces goat and mutton when in season. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the successful applicant should be prepared to show leadership qualities and provide support across the business to drive a culture of continuous improvement within the Accountancy skillset.
Please note: This is a site-based role in Bordertown, South Australia (approx. 250kms east of Adelaide), and as such the successful applicant will be required to live locally to the Bordertown Plant. A relocation allowance may be offered to the successful candidate (if they’re not already residing locally to the Bordertown area).
Your responsibilities:
- Collection and recording of data for preparation of timely and accurate weekly/monthly results and reports
- Manage Plant queries regarding proper accounting for all aspects of Plant operations
- Proactively respond to variances between weekly and monthly results, and between weekly forecast and weekly actual results
- Manage rolling weekly/monthly forecasts on operating costs
- Preparation of journals, general ledger reconciliations and month end reporting
- Review and sign off of general ledger reconciliations in Blackline across all profit centres of the Bordertown Plant
- Preparation of month end reports including analysis of operating costs
- Analyse standard to actual cost variances particularly focussing on labour cost variances
- Identify challenges and opportunities and recommend corrective actions as indicated by performance to meet cost performance targets
- Budget preparation and analysis ensuring review against current operating costs
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or similar discipline
- CA or CPA qualified
- Previous experience in a similar accounting or finance role
- Previous experience within a Manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Experience with using Blackline / SAP (preferred)
- Proven analytical, reporting, costing, budgeting and process improvement experience
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
- Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to demonstrate innovation and identify process improvement opportunities
