The Opportunity The Plant Controller role is responsible to maintain a system of adequate internal controls and provide financial control to the manufacturing plant. You will work closely with the APAC Manufacturing Finance lead and Plant Manager to focus on financial and operational improvements, including identifying and driving cost reductions and ameliorating potential risks. This role will receive a full hand over of role and responsibilities from the Manufacturing finance lead over a transition of 12 months.
In this role, you will be required to work onsite each day starting at 7 or 8am with an early finish. Key Responsibilities Together with cost accountants, effectively control costs and all facets of the plant’s efficiency and productivity on a daily basis Provide daily, weekly and monthly financial metrics, analyzing actual performance in a timely manner Participate in month-end close processes and prepare journal entries as required Coordinate monthly Stock take process, prepare reconciliations and investigate reasons for discrepancies. Drive improvement projects to instill global best practice into Inventory Control procedure, training and adherence.
Identify and communicate the underlying performance trends for the operations of the site Participate in planning and budgeting, yearly ABC model update, ensuring accurate standard costs Assist in raising CER (Capital project requests), prepare relevant reports and forecasts, and assure timely accounting close out of the projects Assure SOX compliance and adherence to control policies and procedures Participate in on site daily management meetings to check in on plant performance and provide the financial input as required to ensure the team is clear on current financial status and escalations. Assist APAC Manufacturing Lead to develop and deliver plant forecasts, budgets, and operating plans, that align financial targets to plant KPIS Support the lean manufacturing focus of the plant by partnering operations in identifying and driving out waste, including the provision of financial validation and reporting, on a weekly and monthly basis About you Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field Professional accounting certification with a recognised professional body is desirable 7 years proven accounting experience Extensive “shop floor” experience in a manufacturing environment Demonstrated knowledge of operational accounting (cost accounting, project costing) Demonstrated knowledge of financial analysis processes and procedures within a manufacturing environment Demonstrated ability to successfully apply forecasting techniques and…
