Queensland Rail have a new opportunity for a Plant Fitter/ Operator to join our Track Resurfacing Team based at the Banyo Depot working in various locations in Brisbane. In this role, you will be support with the operation of our resurfacing equipment and provide general maintenance, servicing, and repairs on this equipment.

Hours and Salary:
This role will be predominantly night work and therefore requires availability for day, night and weekend shifts with overtime available.
Working in this team on the current roster a Plant Fitter/ Operator earns between $140,000 - $160,000 plus superannuation. This includes the allowances and penalty rates for weekend and afternoon/night shifts and working overtime.
Day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include:
- Operate track maintenance heavy machinery and program works into the machine.
- Investigate and provide repairs to heavy machinery track equipment.
- Carry out safety critical checks on machines in line with Queensland Rail regulations.
- Communicate with the team to pass on important messages or plan future works.

What you will bring to the role:
- Mechanical fitter trade certification.
- Driving Licence Cat C.
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
- Ability to work autonomously.
