THE POSITION:
Working within AlburyCity’s Fleet & Supply team the Plant Hire and Inventory Control Officer plays a key role in facilitating Council’s internal and external Plant Hire management systems and in supporting operational supply activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate, deploy and manage all external hire for minor plant, major plant, trucks and vehicles.
  • Implement, administer and monitor Council’s external Plant Hire contracts.
  • Implement, develop and maintain centralised Council plant and vehicle booking system.
  • Maximise internal Plant Hire utilisation through better management and coordination of operational Plant Hire requirements.
  • Ensure utilisation of plant is maximised through internal cross utilisation.
  • Ensure all hired plant complies with WHS regulations pertaining to hire plant.
  • Ensure all externally hired plant is appropriately serviced and maintained.
  • Manage and monitor daily inspection process for hired plant.
  • Coordinate availability of hire of plant for Council operations.
  • Manage Plant Hire ‘pool’ for internal hire (booking system, utilisation, maintenance, safety etc.).
  • Provide input into ‘hire versus buy’ business case comparisons for teams.
  • Creation and monitoring of internal Plant Hire utilisation reports.
  • Creation and monitoring of Plant Hire reports (external hire expenditure reports).
  • Utilise Authority inventory module to create purchase orders and goods receipt supplies.
  • Assist in the receival, storage and issue of supplies.
  • Utilise an electronic Inventory Control system.
  • Deliver bulk diesel fuel to construction sites.
  • Pick up and deliver supplies to Council outposts.
  • Undertake basic procurement including quotation requests and assessments.
  • Participate in bi-annual stocktake process.
  • Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training.
  • Observe requirements of the WHS Legislation, relevant to the job and adhere to AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding WHS.
  • Observe appropriate AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding day to day operations including Equal Employment Opportunity policies, AlburyCity's Dress Code and Standards Policy and AlburyCity's Code of Conduct.
