About the role

Our Ravensworth team is expanding! WesTrac is seeking an experienced and team orientated Leading Hand. You will deliver hands-on mechanical and technical support to your crew along with supporting our Caterpillar customers. The successful applicant will lead a crew focused on customer satisfaction, technician productivity along with championing our WesTrac SPARC values of Safety, Pride, Accountability, Respect and Customer. In addition, you will have a proactive approach to your work with demonstrated experience working in high performing teams and have a methodical approach to problem solving.

Roster & Remuneration

Lifestyle 14/28: 2 ON 2 OFF 3 ON 2 OFF 2 ON 3 OFF 2 ON 2 OFF 3 ON 2 OFF 2 ON 3 OFF
Hourly Rate: $65 OT Rate: $98 (paid on any hours worked outside your rostered shifts)
Annual: $142,768 (before super) $157,758 (after super)

  • Rates above are a guide only; each candidate will be assessed based on competencies and experience within role
Flexible rostering arrangements are available for discussion for the right candidate!

Key Responsibilities

You will be working alongside our team of experienced and motivated Plant Mechanics based on our customer sites performing inspections, maintenance and repairs on the likes of Caterpillar 797F Mining Trucks. You will bring a high level of technical skills and expertise to the role, along with a strong drive and motivation to succeed and commit to a team.

Skills & Experience

As the successful candidate you will possess the following skills:

Proven experience in a similar role
Mechanical trade qualification (Australian trade recognised)
Working at heights or willing to complete
MDG25 or willing to complete
Familiarity with Caterpillar Equipment
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong commitment to meeting customer requirements
Excellent diagnostic and repair skills
Strong job planning skills
Glencore generic induction preferred but not essential
Ability to complete an Order 43 Coal Board medical
