We are MMG and we mine for progress.At MMG, our vision is to create a leading international mining company for a low carbon future.We mine for progress to create wealth for our people, host communities and shareholders with an ambition to grow and diversify our resource, production and value.MMG has a global presence, owning and developing copper, zinc and other base metals projects across Australia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Peru.Our aim is to create a workplace that encourages diversity and inclusion and supports our people to grow.We are guided by our values; think safety first, respect each other, work together, do what we say, and we want to be better.Headquartered in Melbourne, we are listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx 1208) with an international shareholder base.Rosebery mine:The Rosebery Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmania's largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold doré.It supports approximately 500 employees and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.MMG has an office in Burnie, giving employees the flexibility to work from there when they are not required onsite.Plant MetallurgistReporting to the Superintendent Metallurgy, the Plant Metallurgist is responsible for the provision of daily technical assistance to metallurgical operations through monitoring, recording and communicating plant performance as well as identification and development of improvement opportunities to maximise concentrator value recovery.The role is offered on an 8/6 roster basis.Competencies, qualifications and skills:

An unwavering commitment to workplace safety.Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.Demonstrated site-based experience in base metals flotation.Experience using metallurgical accounting systems and substantial exposure and use of PI data historian and Process Book.Metallurgical testwork techniques (plant surveys and trials, sample preparation, laboratory flotation testing)Excellent communication and effective management skills with an ability to work and influence in a team environment.Previous experience in and understanding of core processes within base and precious metal concentrators including crushing, grinding, gravity gold recovery, base metals flotation, thickening, dewatering and filtrationUnderstanding of methods for analysis of process data to diagnose and improve plant performance.Understanding of metallurgical mass balancing, modelling and simulation, plant trial, survey and laboratory testwork techniques.Understanding of mineralogical analysis techniques, information and correlation to plant performance.Understanding of operating processing plant cost drivers.

Key responsibilities will include:

Identify opportunities for improvement, and develop ideas generated by Metallurgical, Operational and Maintenance teams to allow for appropriate project scoping and prioritisation.Review Metallurgical and Production targets continually, while providing technical input to personnel as required to optimise plant throughput, recovery and concentrate grade performance to achieve or exceed these goals.Undertake laboratory and plant testwork and surveys to identify, ratify and execute improvement opportunities to assist delivery of safety, volume and cost targets.Scheduling of concentrate for transport from site and ensuringdaily consignments are maintained within specifications.Forecasting of production and reagents.
