In this role, you'll:
- Operate a variety of major plant items that are used in road construction and maintenance projects across the region.
- Perform maintenance and manual labouring tasks using plant and equipment and powered and non-powered hand tools.
- Perform tasks related to the application of bituminous sealing materials such as emulsion.
- Road maintenance activities may include, but not limited to, widening & barrier installs, enhanced road pavements, overtaking lanes and heavy patching works.
- Work collaboratively with the team including Team Leaders and Works Supervisors to manage the day-to-day operations and tasks as well as resolve issues that may arise.
- Travel throughout the region to attend worksites including attending call outs on weekends and after hours scheduled night work where required.
- Keep up to date with WHS legislation and policies and procedures as it relates to minimising risk and keeping to safe work standards.
- Work a 9-day fortnight roster.

About you
We’re seeking a team player and experienced Plant Operator who is experienced in safe and efficient operations of Bobcats, Soil Stabilisers, Rollers, Loaders, Excavators, and other general road maintenance equipment used for bituminous sealing.
You’ll be confident, and highly capable operating major plant and have proven experience rectifying simple hazards without direction and reporting them accordingly.
You must hold the following qualifications:
- White Card
- Current driver’s licence
Whilst not essential a truck licence, or the ability to load plant on the back of truck/trailer would be highly desirable.
We take the WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously. Therefore, to be successful in this role it is a requirement that you must reside within a 100 km distance of the Moree Depot.
