An exciting career opportunity arises to join the City of Parramatta as a compactor operator in our growing Waste and Cleansing team!
About the role
City of Parramatta are currently seeking skilled and experienced garbage compactor operators to join our growing Waste & Cleansing team on a weekend shift, to ensure that Parramatta’s Public Domain is maintained and improved to enhance the appearance of our great city!
Permanent part-time opportunity for Saturday & Sunday only- 3am-1:30pm.
Duties will include:
- Undertaking a variety of tasks required for the successful completion of the functions of the Cleansing Services Team to ensure the long-term management, condition and usability of assets and facilities under the care of the team.
- Operate a variety of plant including garbage compactors.
- Adapt to changing priorities and undertake other tasks as directed, to assist other teams and operational areas, particularly in wet weather or other emergencies to meet community needs.
About You
The successful candidate should have previous experience in a similar role and experience in the safe operation and maintenance of plant including waste compactors.
You will be adaptable and able to provide a great customer experience for our community.
Qualifications:
- Hold a current NSW Driver’s License (Class MR/HR)
- Hold a current TCR Traffic Control ticket, or the ability and willingness to obtain.
- Possession of a construction industry certificate “White Card”
- Asbestos Awareness
What’s on offer:
We are offering a salary range of $61,736.51 to $67,983.28 plus 11% Superannuation (Pro Rata).
Position may attract shift penalties in addition to the ordinary hourly rate of pay for the actual time worked in accordance with the Local Government Award 2023.
