Your new role: This position is responsible for effectively working as part of the Solid Waste Team to provide high quality services at the Gregadoo Waste Management Centre (GWMC). Duties of the role will include but not limit to: Operate and maintain Council plant and equipment with an emphasis on flip screen unit, loader, water truck, tipper, hook lift truck, forklift, excavator and landfill compactor operation; Manage the processing of waste at the Gregadoo Waste Management Centre (GWMC) using the loader mounted flip screen. Coordinate the processing of material at other sites as required; Assist when required to exchange the transfer skip bins at other Council sites and remote stations including Humula, Galore, Currawarna, Collingullie, Uranquinty, Mangoplah, and Tarcutta; Undertake other Waste Management duties as required including disposal of domestic, commercial and building waste and contaminated waste; road and rubbish cell maintenance; implementing and monitoring soil, sediment and pollution control measures; site rehabilitation works; and site safety; Utilise and maintain small items of plant, equipment, tools (hand and power) and personal protective equipment and clothing (PPE/C) in accordance with Council standards; Complete documentation relevant to the role e.g. standard forms, run sheets, payroll system, toolbox talk, site safety documentation including incident reports etc; and Assist with aspects in all operations of Gregadoo Waste Management Centre when required. What you will need to succeed: Substantial experience relevant to the role. Class HR Driver’s Licence. National Certificates of Competency High Risk – Forklift (LF). A General Construction Induction Training Card (White). Previous experience and competency with an Excavator and an Articulated Dump Truck (Moxy) is highly desirable. In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation applicants are required to be vaccinated and provide evidence for Hepatitis A; Hepatitis B; and Tetanus and will be asked to provide evidence of this.
