The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.
Right now, we have a Permanent Full -Time opportunity for a Plant Operator Grade 2 - 3 to join our Regional Construction and Delivery Team based in either Holbrook or Gundagai, NSW. We are seeking those that reside within a 50km radius from the Holbrook or Gundagai depot as you will be on call when required. This role will conduct work outside the region on occasions and there will be a requirement to camp away from home.
You will operate a variety of major plant items that are used in road construction and maintenance projects. You'll be required to carry out certain duties including but not limited to:
- maintenance of established pavements
- construction of new or enhanced pavements
- establishment and maintenance of roadside fixtures and signage
- application of road marking materials
- application of bituminous sealing materials
- establishment and maintenance of traffic signals and driver aid devices
About you
We're seeking a team player and experienced plant operator who is experienced in safe and efficient operations of Bobcats, Soil Stabilisers, rollers, Loaders, Excavators, and other general road maintenance equipment. You'll be confident, and highly capable operating major plant and have proven experience rectifying simple hazards without direction and reporting them accordingly. You will also:
- Be an excellent communicator and team player
- Experienced in general labouring
- Demonstrate responsibility for personal safety and safety of others in the workplace, and
- Possess a valid Driver Licence and White Card
Whilst not essential a truck licence, or the ability to load plant on the back of truck/trailer would be highly desirable.
Wage and Benefits
The wage for this position is Plant Operator Grade 2- 3 of ($1,312.40 - $1,344.20) per week + superannuation and allowances.
