Plant Operator

Mackay Regional Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Plant Operator to operate the Skid Steer Loader in the Civil Operations team, based at our Paget Depot on a permanent full-time basis with a 9 day fortnight roster. About this opportunity:
You will be required to operate other plant, such as skid steer loader, trucks, backhoes, rollers and loaders. You will also carry out labouring duties associated with the maintenance and construction of road and drainage assets, and other civil infrastructure including earthworks, concrete, pipelaying, bitumen and vegetation work.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Certificates of competency or Licences to operate road construction plant and/or equipment – skid steer loader, backhoe and roller preferred.
- Current General Construction Safety "White" Card
- Current QLD Heavy Rigid Truck ‘HR’ Class Licence
- Current Traffic Controllers Ticket or willingness to obtain.
- Good experience in driving trucks in varying road conditions
- Good experience in operating road construction plant e.g. roller, backhoe, loader
- Extensive experience in construction/maintenance of roads and drainage infrastructure
