The Plant Operator position will be responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of plant and equipment within the Toowoomba Region.
- The base wage rate for this position is $1,129.62 gross per week, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
- In addition to the base wage rate, variable allowances are available (for example - on call, over time, asbestos allowances, wet weather).
- This is a permanent full time position based at our Principal Depot in Charlton.
- Work a 9 day fortnight with a Rostered Day Off.
The Water and Sewer Maintenance Section forms part of the Water Infrastructure Services (WIS) Branch. It is responsible for carrying out the Passive assets management and maintenance of the community Water supply and Wastewater collection pipeline networks. These works are essential for maintaining public health, protecting the environment, and promoting sustainable water management.
The Water and Sewer Maintenance Section services a region encompassing Toowoomba, Crows Nest, Oakey and Millmerran of operational works entailing:
- Reactive Water/Sewer works.
- Programmed Water/Sewer works and private works.
- Supply network Bulk Water mains works.
How to be successful in this position - Success Criteria
Hold the mandatory qualification(s), training and/or experience, as outlined under the 'Success Criteria' in the .
Mandatory Qualifications/Licences include:
- Current ‘MR’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- WHS Certificate of Competency or RII Competency or equivalent for “LE” – Excavator (up to 0.5 cubic meter capacity).
- WHS Competency (White Card) for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, or equivalent, or a willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
- Possession of High-Risk Work Licence to operate a ‘CV’ Crane (if not held, must be willing to obtain within 6 months of commencement).
- Possession of CPCCLDG3001 – Licence to Perform Dogging (DG) or equivalent (if not held, must be willing to obtain within 6 months of commencement).
- WHS Certificate of Competency or RII Competency or equivalent for “LB” Backhoe Front-End Loader (up to 2.25 cubic meter capacity). (if not held, must be willing to obtain within 6 months of commencement).
