About your teammates:
The Water and Sewer Maintenance Section forms part of the Water Infrastructure Services (WIS) Branch. It is responsible for carrying out the Passive assets management and maintenance of the community Water supply and Wastewater collection pipeline networks. These works are essential for maintaining public health, protecting the environment, andpromoting sustainable water management.
The Water and Sewer Maintenance Section services a region encompassing Toowoomba,Crows Nest, Oakey, and Millmerran of operational works entailing:
- Reactive Water/Sewer works.
- Programmed Water/Sewer works and private works.
- Supply network Bulk Water mains works
The team plays a service crucial role in the Water Infrastructure Services Branch and believes in fostering a positive work culture that promotes employee well-being, engagement, and satisfaction creating an environment where employees feel supported, motivated, and empowered to perform their best work.
What we have to offer:
- All positions are permanent full-time positions based at the Charlton Depot.
- The base rate is $1,129.62 gross per week, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
- In addition to the base wage rate, variable allowances are available (for example - overtime & wet weather).
- Work a 9 day fortnight with a Rostered Day Off.

About you:
Mandatory Qualification(s), training and/or experience, specific to the position:
- Current ‘MR’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- WHS Certificate of Competency or RII Competency or equivalent for “LE” – Excavator (up to 0.5 cubic meter capacity).
- WHS Competency (White Card) for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, or equivalent, or a willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
- Possession of High-Risk Work Licence to operate a ‘CV’ Crane (if not held, must be willing to obtain within 6 months of commencement).
- Possession of CPCCLDG3001 – Licence to Perform Dogging (DG) or equivalent (if not held, must be willing to obtain within 6 months of commencement).
- WHS Certificate of Competency or RII Competency or equivalent for “LB” Backhoe Front-End Loader (up to 2.25 cubic meter capacity). (if not held, must be willing to obtain within 6 months of commencement).
