About the Role
This lead role involves overseeing the system manager function for preventing and managing serious wrongdoing within the department. Working closely with the Director of Regulation and Compliance, the role includes providing expert guidance on matters of probity, corrupt conduct, and protected disclosures. Additionally, the position entails overseeing highly sensitive investigations and special projects within the department and other related entities, while managing a team within the broader unit.
Key accountabilities include:
- Lead and supervise a team tasked with spearheading the policy framework for preventing and managing serious wrongdoing across NSW Government.
- Ensure proper supervision of team members conducting preliminary reviews, assessments, and investigations, while keeping the Director and other key stakeholders informed of progress and outcomes.
- Identify, prioritise, and oversee the development of tools, resources, and training materials aimed at supporting and integrating the policy framework.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with key personnel and other government agencies to enhance the capacity for managing and responding to allegations of serious wrongdoing.
- Offer expert guidance and advice in response to allegations of serious wrongdoing to relevant personnel, entities, and other stakeholders.
- Strategise, oversee, and monitor key projects and initiatives assigned to the team to ensure the achievement of desired outcomes and expectations.
- Produce high-quality written reports, briefs, correspondence, and cabinet documents to effectively inform or respond to requests from agencies or the Government.
- Possession of relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in handling complex projects and investigations pertaining to serious wrongdoing or misconduct, showcasing a profound understanding of contemporary investigation and review methodologies.
- Proven capability in interpreting and implementing pertinent legislation alongside associated policy frameworks.
- Successful track record in leadership and team management roles, demonstrating adeptness in guiding and overseeing individuals and teams effectively.
