Your new company
Polling Assistants are one of the first points of contact for voters at a polling place and they also monitor ballot boxes and manage queues.
Your new role
- Assist with management of voting queue and voter queries, and direct voters to relevant voting points.
- Issue votes
- Issue, manage and secure ballot papers in accordance with policy, procedure, and ballot paper principles.
- Account for ballot papers received and complete compliance documentation.
- Provide an accessible and culturally informed source of information and instructions for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander voters where required
What you'll need to succeed
Due to the nature of these roles, to be eligible for these positions' applicants must:
- Be an Australian Citizen
- Be able to obtain and maintain a Police Check
- Be able to sign a Political Neutrality Statement
- Be available to work from 9am-5pm on 25th May 2024
- Previous Polling Assistant experience is desired but not necessary
- Customer service experience and ability to deal with face to face enquiries
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
