UGL are an organisation with a long history.
We boast one of the longest histories in the Mackay and Central Queensland region for the delivery of coal asset maintenance shutdowns.
Backed by the strength of a global organisation in CIMIC, at our heart our Resources East Division - based out of Mackay and working throughout Central Queensland - is a local team, operating continuously since our Paget workshops were established in 1978.
We’re a dynamic, talented and driven team of professionals; across a broad range of Trades, Support, Leadership and Technical disciplines - working alongside our customers to deliver their asset performance strategies.
With a focus on the delivery of maintenance shutdowns, Projects and ongoing maintenance support, particularly to the coal and coal handling industries throughout the Mackay and Central Queensland Regions; we service our local coal Ports, mine sites throughout the Bowen Basin, the Nth Queensland metal province, and the South Australian copper region.

About Our Projects
UGL are mobilising our teams across two major Shutdown streams of work throughout the second half of 2024, running from July through to December:
Mackay Coal Port – 2024 Shutdowns
- Ongoing Shutdowns commencing July until late-November
- Excellent and ongoing rosters
- Working within an exciting, dynamic and talented team of project leaders
- Travel payments on offer – with trips home throughout the run of Shutdowns
Washplant Shutdowns – Bowen Basin (Moranbah and Rockhampton)
- Running from July through until end of November 2024
- 8 Weeks at a mine site in the Moranbah Region
- Circa 4 weeks at a mine site in the Blackwater Region
