The role

We are looking for a Portfolio Planning Lead; to join the Operations team here at Sunwater, you will lead the planning for Sunwater’s Asset Portfolio, programs and governance. The role will collaborate closely with the Asset Management team, Project Controls team, ePMO and various business units across the organisation to manage the annual and long-term planned development program and other projects within the Asset Portfolio.

As part of the delivery of the Asset Portfolio Plan, the role will enable alignment of all programs and projects with key Sunwater strategies and objectives to ensure that the plan can be delivered within the available resources and are appropriately categorised, prioritised and programmed.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead iterative Portfolio Definition practices, ensure the Asset Portfolio Plan remains up to date and communicated effectively.
  • Compilation and management of portfolio data (including project status, risk and prioritisation) including measuring, ranking and prioritising programs and projects within the Asset Portfolio budget
  • Maintaining the “one source of truth” with regards to the annual and 5 year capital programme for the asset portfolio and coordinating any changes (including portfolio-level project substitution) to enable effective decision making by the relevant Program and Portfolio governance committee's.
  • Monitoring the execution of the annual capital programme and supporting medium-term forecasting.
  • Manage the development of documentation and information for the Asset Portfolio Committee and sub committees in development of PCG papers, organising meeting, maintaining records of actions and escalation of issues.
  • Analysing the effectiveness of overall PCM and asset portfolio expenditure and identifying opportunities for improvement.

About you

We are looking for someone with a bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, economics or a discipline related to management or financial accounting. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • A minimum 5 years’ post graduate experience (highly preferable) in portfolio management
  • Demonstrated ability in program budget development and management, including the development and application of investment prioritisation processes based on risk, benefits or totex.
  • Extensive portfolio or project management skills with the ability to plan, coordinate and deliver multiple activities to deadline.
  • Knowledge of planning, including an applied understanding of risk quantification and management.
  • Experience in the development of governance meeting packs and management of such meetings
