JOB SUMMARY
Ensure the quality provision and ongoing development of support services that meet the needs of our community.
Manage the day to day running of the centre.
Manage the development and implementation of programs and services so that each program achieves its requirements under their respective funding body guidelines.
Ensure that the stated outcomes or objectives of each program and the organisation are achieved.
Delivery of community development, compliance, and other relevant and appropriate activities.
Programs auspiced by the Rollingstone and District Community Association (RaDCA) are committed to continual improvement in all areas of their service delivery.
The Neighbourhood Centre (NC) Manager will work as a member of a team with coworkers, paid and unpaid, providing leadership within the team, including direction and supervision and peer support while sharing professional expertise.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
ORGANISATION
1.Contribute to the management of all programs through processes that monitor efficiency and effectiveness and meet the needs of community members in need, the organisation is flexible and responsive.
2.Implement directives and decisions of the Management Committee.
3.Represent RDCA at regional Neighbourhood Centres network meetings.
4.Ensure compliance with all commonwealth, state and local laws relevant to activities of the organisation and that these activities meet requirements of the Human Services Quality Framework.
5.Facilitate effective communication between programs, staff, and Management committee.
6.NC Manager undertakes assessment of family and/or individual needs and provides information, referrals and assists with emergency relief programs.
STAFF
1.Work in collaboration with the Management Committee to recruit, supervise and evaluate staff, both volunteer and paid.
2.Support staff and volunteers through active supervision and appropriate mentoring.
3.Develop and implement plans for staff development, retention, and succession.
4.Provide information and interpretation on the SCHCADS and other relevant awards to staff and management committee.
5.Facilitate Team building.
SYSTEMS
1.Develop and maintain organisational systems essential, to sustaining the effective operation of the NC programs and projects including financial management, personnel management, administrative and IT systems.
2.Develop and review Policies and Procedures in relation to all programs.
REPORTING
1.Attend and report on the general operations of the organisation at Management meetings.
2.Supply background or supporting information about major issues for decision at the monthly Management meetings.
3.Report annually to the AGM.
4.Prepare periodic reports to funding bodies for approval by the management Committee.
5.Attend sub-committee meetings as required.
WORKING WITH THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
The Neighbourhood Centre Manager will work with and assist the Management Committee to:
1.Meet the legal requirements of the organisation, including maintenance of records and accountability.
2.Develop and review strategic and annual (operational) plans in support of RaDCA’s mission Statement.
3.Evaluate the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of programs and projects.
4.Develop and maintain organisational capacity to implement programs and projects that meet the community’s needs.
5.Identify and apply for additional funding grants as the needs and availability arises.
