Postans Gatehouse Attendant/Yard All-Rounder

Established in 1996, Capital are proudly West Australian and a market leader in the areas of reclamation, processing and re-use of concrete and other building materials. We currently have two large facilities in Welshpool and Postans (Henderson) and our head office/workshop is located in Welshpool. We manufacture and supply Crushed Concrete Road base (CCR), drainage aggregates and clean recycled fill sand. Capital employ over 50 people and, while being a major supplier to the civil contracting, construction and transport industries, we also offer a wide range of commercial and domestic demolition services.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Gate Attendant (Weighbridge Operator)/Yard All-rounder to join our team at our Postans Depot, this position is varied meaning the person should be flexible in their approach to work with each day being different; while mainly based at our Postans Depot their will be times when you will need to cover for our Welshpool Depot (you will be compensated for travel when doing so). 

Position Details:

• Location: Postans
• Shift Details: 7.00am – 4.00 pm 

40-45 hours per week (Overtime available when covering for our Welshpool Depot location)

• Position: Permanent Full time 

In this role you will:

• Have a flexible, can-do approach to each day 
• Grade trucks according to our criteria & reject loads based on our restrictions
• Book trucks in & out via our systems (manually currently, with upgrades to digital based in the near future)
• Ensure all information is correct & liaise with our accounts department & head office when required 
• Undertake various tasks as per supervisor and managers instructions
• Have eftpos & cash-handling duties including end-of-day procedures
• Use of dust suppression methods to ensure adherence to DWER laws 
• Sample collection & correct record keeping 
• Use of water cart, telehandler and forklift when required
• Undertake some labouring duties when required 
• Customer service (face-to-face, via telephone & email) as required
• Reports per requirements weekly
• Timesheet management for all yard personnel
• Accurate record keeping for fuel, stock levels & re-order as required
• Maintain weighbridge to standards and report any faults to supervisor
• Cover for our Welshpool Depot when required 

You will have:

• A polite, friendly can-do attitude, with a willingness to learn and adapt to each day
• Own transport
• Ability to pass a drug & alcohol assessment
• Current First Aid (desired not essential) 
• Knowledge in recycling (preferred not essential) 
• Knowledge of weighbridge (preferred not essential) 
• Be computer literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Office 
• Have data-entry experience 
• Be physically fit ensuring you can lift 20-30kg buckets of samples & for potential labouring duties on occasion
• Keep a neat and tidy workplace & facilities 
• Have experience using water carts, telehandlers and forklifts where required 

Training will be provided for an initial 2-week period & further training undertaken on an on-going basis while we transition to a digitized approach.
