Our Hays Sydney office is seeking a full time permanent PR Manager commencing immediately. This is an exciting role within our Brand and Communications team. Your new role The PR Manager for ANZ is responsible for strengthening the relevance and positioning of the Hays brand and Share of Voice across Australia and New Zealand through proactive and responsive media engagement. The role acts as a conduit between the insight and expertise within the business and targeted media outlets to deliver an external communications strategy that reinforces the Hays brand as true experts in the world of work. As the key media liaison across the ANZ region, establishing personal relationships across the media landscape is a primary objective of the position.
Work in close collaboration with the Brand and Communications Manager to develop targeted media engagement activities which support the amplification and business engagement with our events, campaigns, products, DE&I and ESG initiatives and major seasonal milestones
Develop proactive outreach media strategy with tier 1 and industry media which aligns to our content strategy and builds our brand reputation and credibility.
Consistently monitor media and industry trends to surface opportunities to amplify Hays and position our business as leaders in recruitment and workforce solutions.
Determine spokespeople within the ANZ business, identify and outline a plan to equip our spokespeople with any required upskilling/ media training.
Gain relevant buy-in from key stakeholders and senior leaders, building an effective working relationship to ensure the business is poised to take advantage of key media opportunities which may arise.
Build the profile of key Hays spokespeople with top tier and industry media as the voice of our organisation.
Respond to media enquiries as relevant to our business priorities and opportune for our brand positioning, and build and maintain relationships with key journalists and publications/news sources
What you'll need to succeed
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or Business
Strong and proven ability to build and leverage relationships internally and externally
Highly developed communications skills, with a creative flair to help craft communications that connect to emotion and purpose
An excellent writer and storyteller with a passion for synthesising opportune angles for media pick-up
A creative problem solver whom where necessary will overcome challenges and ambiguity to drive an outcome
Strong influencing skills, particularly at a senior and executive level
