Job description

We’re Hireup, delivering disability support as it should be.

Our story. It started with a family and their challenge to find disability support that worked for them. They needed more, and knew that people with disability could have more independence, choice and control in their lives. The Hireup purpose was born, and now we strive to enable the pursuit of a good life for everyone.

Support as it should be. We’re Hireup and we’ve supported thousands of clients and support workers across Australia. Now, we’re on a mission to ensure that people living with disability can access the right support for the moments that matter for them. We do this through combining digital tools with the reliability of someone to help when it matters most.

The ask? Our mission sets a new standard for disability support, working in a world of transformation whilst delivering reliable services every day. Authenticity, curiosity and tenacity is a must. Resilience will be key. We will live the ‘power of yes’ and push for the best (we might not always get it right!) but we’ll work together to tackle opportunities, hold each other up and be there in the moments that matter to you and our community.

What you'll do - Practice Lead - Behaviour Support

Hireup is currently looking for an experienced Behaviour Support practitioner to join our team in the role of Practice Lead - Behaviour Support. This lead role is accountable for the quality of Behaviour Support services provided by Hireup across all states of Australia, and across all parts of the business. This includes direct management of a small team of quality-focused Behaviour Support experts; the design and/or provision of clinical supervision and mentoring inside Hireup’s support office as well as to Hireup’s 10,000+ support workers; ensuring high quality and monitoring of intake, approval, and implementation of Behaviour Support plans and restrictive practices across Hireup; use data and community insights to shape policy and strategy about Behaviour Support across Hireup, including working directly with board and ELT.  It is a unique opportunity to work with a large, tech-enabled and client-focussed registered NDIS provider in a start-up environment to reimagine what best practice Behaviour Support could look like in a post-review environment entering the second decade of the NDIS.

  • Be accountable for achieving key business and clinical metrics related to pace, safety and quality of Behaviour Support plan approval and implementation including RP reporting, quality of life outcomes and reduction of RPs and behaviours of concern over time
  • Ensure individual Behaviour Support plans reflect our NDIS participants' goals, passions and strengths and support positive quality of life outcomes and are fit-for-purpose for Hireup’s requirements
  • Work collaboratively vertically and horizontally in a multidisciplinary team to support Hireup’s board, leadership teams and Behaviour Support relationship managers, providing reports as required for governance purposes and ensuring that all operations have a quality lens
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and professional development to upskill a national team of Behaviour Support relationship managers
  • Be responsible for designing, iterating and delivering Behaviour Support related training to the internal Hireup Behaviour Support team, support workers and the broader business
  • Be the expert in Behaviour Support at Hireup by providing internal advisory services, and work with leadership and board to shape policy and strategy
  • Facilitate, organise and/or attend restrictive practice authorisation panels as required
  • Proactively engage in external stakeholder engagement to build and maintain relationships with external Behaviour Support practitioners, other service providers, allied health professionals, state registration bodies and the NDIA Quality and Safeguards Commission
  • Manage and coach a small team of people focussed on quality, training, intake, incident resolution and RP reporting within the wider Behaviour Support team

Your Background

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with individuals with complex behaviours of concern and developing and implementing positive Behaviour Support
  • Relevant qualification in Psychology, Social worker, Occupational Therapy or speech pathology and eligibility to register with the relevant membership body
