ABOUTPERTH OFFICE
South32's corporate office is based in the heart of Perth's CBD. The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk and Technical. Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a permanent full-time position on a Monday-to-Friday basis. This role will preferably be based at our head office in Perth; however, other locations may be considered for the ideal candidate.
The Practice Lead Capability will be responsible for designing and developing a capability framework, conducting deep dives into operations and specific functions, and implementing relevant processes to ensure our leaders are capable of leading through our enabling systems to ensure we all go home safe and well every day;
Reporting to Group Manager Health and Safety Leadership, other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
- Capability Assessment and Improvement process as part of integrated assurance across South32's six enabling systems AND in alignment with our LEADership model
- Lead the execution of Capability assurance activities as part of integrated assurance.
- Review operation-specific capability uplift initiatives and facilitate learning and improvement across the South32 Group
- Develop a capability uplift improvement plan (all operations) to transition South32 to a Q1 safety performer. This includes capabilities across all 6 enabling systems, LEADership behaviours and specifically safety leadership principles.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Seven years of combined operational, projects, technical and corporate experience.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to influence all levels of our Operational and Functional stakeholders
- Skilled in capturing attention and leading others
- Process-driven with an agile mindset to ensure quality and pointed deliverables.
- Ability to hold and put forward independent views under sustained pressure.
- Results-focused, delivering quality work products on time.
- Excellent eye for detail coupled with pragmatic judgment
Qualifications for this position are:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary level qualification (Science / Engineering / similar)
- Organisational Psychology qualification would be advantageous
