- Developing Group mandated controls to manage Vehicle Energy risks and conducts deep dives in operations and relevant functions, assuring minimum requirements are met
- Identifies improvements and reports back to senior management on assurance findings including incident investigations and monitoring improvements
- Provides stewardship over Vehicle Energy Risks across all South32 Operations and Jurisdictions. Contribute to the formulation of the safety vision, plan and strategy, with focus on identifying risk areas and opportunities considering the short, medium and long-term horizons
- Extensive industry experience and technical expertise with an understanding of the risks involved in Vehicle Energy fatal risks and experience in risk management frameworks
- Strong communication and listening skills when collaborating with multiple stakeholders face to face and remotely
- The ability to work in a team environment and share knowledge and leverage key skills as well as being able to work autonomously
- Demonstrated experience in change management and business improvement
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing business needs and circumstances - There will be 2-3 business trips per year
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary level qualification (Science/Engineering \/similar)
