We require the services of a dynamic, driven and self lead Practice/Business manager to provide leadership and business management within a very busy practice of mental health clinicians. Your main duties will include :
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the clinic
- Create a welcoming and respectful environment for clients
- Help to create a professional and collegial environment for practitioners and support staff
- Assist with managing financial tasks of bookkeeping and budgeting
- Manage a team of reception staff, supporting them in their duties as needed and be prepared to fill in for absences
- Provide training and upskilling in practice procedures for staff and clinicians
- Assist clinic director in managing recruitment, training, and performance evaluations (increasing autonomy with demonstrated competence)
- Ensure practice compliance with industry standards and legal regulations (e.g., Medicare regulations)
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with healthcare regulations and standards
- Manage advertising for the clinic/clinic services in coordination with the clinic director
- Assisting clients with understanding insurance coverage, processing claims, and addressing billing inquiries
- Assist the clinic director in developing and implementing strategies for practice growth and business development
- Preparation of internal memos and communications, coordination and planning of practice meetings and events or promotional activities as instructed by the clinic director
- Manage operations in our Devonport clinic, this requires fortnightly in person attendance to oversee and provide support to staff, clinicians and clients.
Essential
- At least 3-5 years of practice management or comparable work experience in a healthcare (or comparable) setting
- Exceptional professionalism

- Exceptional organisational, planning, time management, multi-tasking, delegation and task communication skills
- Demonstrated strengths in tasks such as scheduling, billing and accounts management, organising workspaces, developing practice procedures.
- Fast learner who is able to work autonomously and flexibly adapt to the needs and best interest of the environment
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook or comparable email applications
- Proficiency with Power diary/Halaxy and/or other practice management software
Desirable
- Experience of working within a psychology or mental health service
- Tertiary degree or diploma in Healthcare Administration, Business
- Strong knowledge of healthcare systems and regulations
- Ideally proficient in Xero bookkeeping software
- Competent use of other software applications e.g. Microsoft Power Point
- Competent with Windows operating systems
- Experience in grant applications and sourcing opportunities for clinic growth
