Albany Medical Centre is a small, family friendly general practice that has been providing comprehensive general medical care to the Albany community since 1988. Our practice located in a heritage listed property in Mount Clarence, shared with onsite pathology and allied health. Our practice team includes 3 full time General Practitioners, 3 Practice Nurses, 4 Medical Receptionists and 1 Practice Manager.
The position
We are seeking an enthusiastic proactive Registered Nurse to join our practice team on a permanent part time basis. The position is available for 2 – 3 days per week, negotiable with the applicant. The shifts are from 8:30am – 4:00pm, with a 45-minute lunch break. We are looking for someone with the availability to cover planned and unplanned leave to ensure the smooth running of our practice nursing services.
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong clinical skillset with clinical and professional experience working in an acute or primary care setting. Your passion for providing quality care, ability to work within a fast-paced and multi-disciplinary team-focused environment, and your patient-first attitude are also essential for this role.
Key responsibilities
The Practice Nurse will function as part of the surgery team and will work closely with the General Practitioners and Practice staff to enhance the range of services available to people attending this Practice and contribute positively to their health outcomes.

- Assisting with minor surgical procedures
- Vaccinations (Child and Adult)
- ECG
- Spirometry
- Holter monitors
- Venesection
- Health Assessments
- Dressings
- INR
- Iron Infusions
- Ear Syringing
- Wound Management
- Care planning and chronic disease management
- Preemployment medicals
- Clinical Recalls
- Quality Improvement initiatives
- Clinical stock ordering and management
Essential Criteria
- Current unrestricted Registration with AHPRA
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
- Current CPR certificate (ideal)
