The RoleWe are seeking a Practice Nurse to join our team at the Berrigan Medical Centre 4 days per week 8.30 am – 5 pm. Working hours may be negotiated for the successful applicant.
The purpose of the Practice Nurse is to provide quality support to the General Practitioner and adhere to legal, ethical, and industry compliance standards.

Essential Criteria
- Current registration with the AHPRA.
- Professional Indemnity Insurance.
- Demonstrated patient-focused approach in service provision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise and organise.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Awareness of the principles of medical ethics.
- An understanding of the Accreditation Standards for General Practice
Position Responsibilities
- Practice, comply, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Nursing Professions Code of Ethics and legislation.
- Implementing health assessment and care plans for patients.
- Chronic disease management including diabetes, asthma, and health education.
- Coordination of services with other health care professionals and case management.
- Clinical role including triage of patients, acute assessments, pathology collection, Injections, suture removal, wound management, removal of plaster casts, Urinalysis.
- Maintain emergency drugs and equipment.
- Contribute to WHS and safety of practice environment including infection control guidelines, sharps, and practice policy and procedures.
- Practice Management support.
- Ability to assist and provide feedback regarding the development of budgets, processes, procedures, and policies within the organisation.
