Requirement Overview
We are currently recruiting for the fast-paced fibre termination department!
The role is an exciting opportunity to work in the termination team. The role involves preparing and terminating fibre and optical fibre solutions on mass to fulfil customers’ orders and internal requirements of other departments.
This job role is perfect for those with a meticulous eye for detail and excellent coordination skills. The successful candidate will be fully trained in every step of the process giving them the versatility to work in all stages of the termination process. This means that no two days are the same. This role is an opportunity to be a key part of providing full fibre solutions to the industry as the demand for superfast broadband ever increases.
The role will involve working to achieve defined outputs to meet requirements in quantity, quality, and time. Successful applicants will be expected to work flexible shift patterns to meet demand.
Role and Responsibilities
- Production and packaging of Prysmian products following our standard operating procedures as trained and instructed.
- Fibre optic assembly work as required by order output requirements, Quality Standards and Work Instructions. This will include assembly and termination of connectors and configuration of passive optical components.
- Perform test, measurement and evaluation on fibre optic and related products in compliance with work instructions quality standards and order output requirements.
- Fibre rewinding as required. Assemble and configure fibre optic components. This will require the sustained skilled use (after training) of termination equipment, tools & epoxies and in adherence to specified drawing’s, work instructions and quality standards.
- Product builds to meet order output requirements, Quality Standards and Work Instructions
- Checking, counting, and packing products that are received, stored, and dispatched by Prysmian. This will include carrying out regular stock checks and ensuring that stock data is up to date and accurate using our MRP system
- Ensuring safe packaging of all customer products
- Pro-actively helping with solutions to improve production
- Liaising with the Production Supervisor regarding any outstanding tasking within production and actively participating in their resolution.
- Keep work areas clean to reduce the risk of contamination.
Person Specification
The successful candidates will need to demonstrate on a sustained basis in their employment the following.
- A high standard of proficiency in handling small fibre optic components and equipment.
- The ability to organise, count and record material.
- Adherence in following both written and verbal work instructions.
- Highly self-motivated, disciplined, and organised.
- Time Management, they will deliver a high and sustained standard of attendance and timekeeping.
Experience
- Manufacturing experience in a comparable environment and disciplines desirable however not essential.
