- Deliver advanced clinical training and prepare high-quality learning materials for the Doctor of Optometry program.
- Play a crucial role in shaping future optometrists through hands-on clinical teaching and innovative learning materials.

- Provide teaching support to students working in the preclinical environment as they learn optometric techniques
- Work collaboratively with other teaching staff to deliver preclinical sessions that are integrated and aligned with learning outcomes of Doctor of Optometry preclinical subjects and streams
- Work closely with the lead academic demonstrator to support and coordinate logistics and teaching materials required for preclinical teaching sessions
- Establish strong and effective teaching relationships with students and assist them through demonstration/refinement of their techniques, to achieve clinical competency
The ideal candidate will excel in time management and organisational skills, effectively coordinating workflow, prioritizing tasks, and balancing competing demands. They will possess strong interpersonal skills, positively interacting and cooperating with students and staff, alongside excellent written and verbal communication skills for delivering briefings and articulating feedback.You will also have:
- An optometric qualification with therapeutic endorsement, and rights to practice in Australia as an optometrist
- Optometric skills demonstrated by at least 3 years of registered experience
- Excellent teaching skills and commitment to quality teaching, including the ability to stimulate interest and enable students to understand complex concepts
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, including demonstrated experience in co-ordinating workflow, prioritising tasks, meeting deadlines and effectively balancing competing demands.
